Earthing or Grounding products are those that offer your body a connection with the earth’s surface, when going barefoot isn’t appropriate or simply isn’t an option.

For hundreds and hundreds of years before our existence, humans (our ancestors) lived in very close contact with the earth. The societies and people at the time were living a highly agrarian lifestyle. Agriculture, the source of nourishment and sustenance, was the primary means of subsistence and people living then didn’t take it for granted.

It’s hard to imagine life without our shoes. Since a very early age, we’ve been taught that shoes are meant to protect our feet and to be worn whenever going outside. It’s become second nature to grab for your shoes before going anywhere (even indoors!). But have you ever considered the possible negative side effects of wearing shoes? Summer – The Earthing Season

Where I live, summer is without a doubt the most coveted time of the year. With a brutal nine month winter behind us, there’s absolutely nothing we yearn for more than some sunshine, warmth, and the sight of the sprouting earth. 

Once the summer season fully rolls around (at least here), we absolutely have to take advantage of it while it lasts. Two to three months of cool, carefree vibes in the summer sun can fly by – trust me!

Rooting oneself to the earth is a core aspect of many wellness trends and patterns. For example, the yoga practice centralizes the importance of the root chakra. Poses such as Bridge and Mountain Pose are meant to ground you (and your root chakra) in the present moment and establish a firm connection with the earth. Even savasana after an exhausting yoga session, when done on the earth’s surface, is an example of lying fully connected to the earth.

The idea of touching the earth, being in touch with the earth’s surface, and taking in the earth’s surrounding  powers has been around for ages. However today, more than ever before, we are beginning to realize the true importance and power that the earth has.
