As you may have seen on our Facebook page, we have been treating ourselves to Apple Cider Vinegar daily at the Juil office. I have been using Apple Cider Vinegar in my homemade salad dressing for years yet just recently learned about all of the health benefits that come with it.

There are countless uses of Apple Cider Vinegar that are beneficial to your skin, hair, home, and your overall health.

If you aren’t familiar with this type of vinegar, it’s a completely natural product. Apple Juice is fermented to form hard apple cider and after a second fermentation it becomes Apple Cider Vinegar. This is a completely natural product so you don’t have to worry about ingesting any unnatural chemicals. If you take a close look at the bottle, you will notice the “mother” culture on the bottom. This is completely normal since it is unfiltered and unpasteurized.

Hair care: Instead of using conditioner, just reach for a mixture of 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar and a cup of cold water to give your hair that shine you’ve been looking for. It also reduces frizz, seals cuticles, and stimulates the scalp to promote hair growth.

Skin care: Apply a few drops to a cotton ball and use it to prevent breakouts, minimize blemishes, and help dry spots. Scarlett Johansson has been using this for years. You can also consume ½-1 tablespoon a day to get similar results.

Bath: When you are drawing a bath, just add a cup (or less) of apple cider vinegar to warm water. It draws out toxins from your body, leaving your skin toned and moisturized. The composition of apple cider vinegar makes a great remedy for a little too much fun in the sun – sunburn.

Foot care: Use apple cider vinegar to soothe your aching or swollen feet. Give yourself a great at-home pedicure by soaking your feet in warm water with a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. This will provide instant relief after running, wearing heels, and for pregnant women.

Weight Loss: Adding 2 tablespoons to a glass of water a day has weight loss benefits due to the acetic acid (main ingredient of apple cider vinegar). There was a 2009 study published in Bioscience, Biotechnology, and Biochemistry that found that patients who drank apple cider vinegar showed a significant decline in body weight.

Detox the body from within: Apple cider vinegar helps the body maintain a healthy alkaline pH level. A higher alkaline pH level means more energy. It stimulates cardiovascular circulation and helps detoxify the liver. Any fermented food has similar benefits ranging from Pur-eeh tea, Kombucha, Kimchi, etc. Apple cider vinegar cleanses the lymph nodes that help with allergies, congestion, sore throats, etc.

Cleaner: Apply directly to your toilet or shower and wipe it down for an all-natural clean that leaves the area smelling great. You can create a solution of 1 part apple cider vinegar to 5 parts water in a spray bottle and use on multiple surfaces.
